Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Dog via Tasty

So I saw this video on Facebook & talked my wife into helping me create these "spicy" Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Dog. I say "spicy" because there really wasn't much spice to to them at all. My wife & I are both chili heads, so maybe we are accustomed to more heat.

A few things we noticed were:
1. We used a 6 pack of sausages. The original recipe calls for 4 hot dogs.  I suspect this is because the cheese comes off the last 2 while frying the first 4. We had to put the last 2 back in the freezer for a bit.

2. Honestly, these were no better than the frozen premade corn dogs you can buy at the grocery store.

3. We ended up with extra batter, so we used it to make hush puppies.I enjoyed these more than the corn dogs.

Here are some photos of our journey down the dog track:
mise en place
skewer each dog, then wrap with cheese

place in freezer for 20 minutes

dice jalapeno

heat oil to 350°

combine dry ingredients

mix well

add milk

add diced jalapeno

we decided to add a teaspoon of honey

out of the freezer, ready to dip

dipping dogs

fry 3-5 minutes or until golden brown

cooked

we used extra batter to make hush puppies

feeling corny

at least they look nice

I don't see us ever making these again. In my opinion, it was not worth the hassle or the mess.
