When we travel, it's all about destination dining. When I stumbled upon an article about the best chicken & waffles in the US, I knew we had to visit Amy Ruth's Restaurant. We had already planned to be in New York for a few days before leaving on a cruise, so this was easy to work into our itinerary. According to The Daily Meal, Amy Ruth's is the #2 spot in the nation to find chicken & waffles. After eating there for lunch on 09/13/17, I can see why. While the food was extraordinary, the service left a lot to be desired. We saw our waitress only a few times. Our drinks sat empty for far too long. Also, we had to flag her down to get our check. Overall, it was an enjoyable expreince. I am glad that we got to eat such marvelous fried chicken. The waffles were excellent as well. We finished up with a couple of desserts. My wife & I split the delicious banana pudding. Her parents shared a perfect piece of pineapple coconut cake.
