West Coast Cruise Day 3 & 4

Day 3 - Friday, March 30th, 2018
Continuing on from my previous post, on Day 3 we went to Universal Studios Hollywood. It was my myself, my wife Shelly, her brother Shannon & his daughter Katie. We decided to go ahead & splurge on the VIP tour. This was definitely worth the cost. With the VIP, you receive breakfast in a special lounge area. Your tour guide meets you there, then leads you all over the park. A neat bonus to this is, at every ride there is a special VIP line, that skips ahead of everyone else. For lunch, he escorted us to a private buffet dining hall. Both eateries were too crowded for me to be able to take decent photos. The tour we selected last from 8:30am till around 4pm. After 4pm, our guide left & we were able to use our lanyard tags to skip to the front of the line, including the fast pass. I wouldn't mind doing it again. It was that enjoyable. I ended up taking something like 167 photos. Here are a few samples:
VIP passes & souvenirs

Me at Moe's Tavern

Shelly at Kwik-E-Mart

Plane crash from War of the Worlds

Shelly & I in front of the wreckage

The court house from Back to the Future & To Kill A Mockingbird

The Walking Dead "haunted house"

We left a few hours before the park closed due to exhaustion. We were so tired from walking all day. We called for an Uber to take us back to the hotel. For dinner that night, we ordered delivery from Gloria's Cafe. Wonderful Mexican & Salvadoran food. We actually ordered too much food. It was so hard to narrow down the choices. Everything sounded so damn good. We ended up eating the leftovers for lunch the next day, while we laid around the hotel & rested until it was time to go to dinner at Bludso's Bar & Que.

Chips & dip

Everything was individually wrapped & labeled

Carne Asda Burrito

Carnitas Burrito

I have never had Salvadoran tamales. These were pretty good.

Delicious

Tasty, but totally different than any other empananda I have ever had

Day 4 - Saturday, March 31st, 2018
Menu. The 6 of us shared The Bludso's Tray

Meats: I really appreciated that it was served with sauce on the side
1. Brisket - moist, good bark, tender
2. Sausage - crisp skin, good snap, ground was a pleasant texture
3. Ribs - great bite, a little spicy
4. Rib tips - burnt ends meets ribs
5. Chicken - crispy skin, good flavor
6. Pulled pork - dry but sauce fixed it

Cornbread & BBQ sauce. "Spicy" sauce was weak. Tasted good but IMO, not spicy.
Pint Size Sides:
1. Corn bread - Perfectly cooked
2. Beans - Excellent
3. Potato salad - Good but needed more seasoning
4. Coleslaw - too dry
5. Mac n cheese - odd texture, maybe sitting on the prep line all day
6. Collard greens - Wife & MIL enjoyed it.
My first ever Cheerwine. Would order again.
