Alaskan Cruise 2018 - Day 7
Tuesday May 29th, 2018
Today was a short port day where we visited one of my wife Shelly's favorite ports, Ketchikan, Alaska.
Of course, we started with breakfast in the main dining room.
After breakfast we had a blast sight seeing on our private tour with Bernie of Orca Song Tours. (If you would like to read Shelly's TripAdvisor review, it can be found here.) We took over 100 photos. Here are some samples:
Once we were back on board, we ate lunch at the Prego Pizzeria..
After lunch, my niece Katie, won a foam thumb during the 60 Second Frenzy game.
I'm sure you can guess what happens next... That's right, nap time! 😀 Then it's off to dinner in the main dining room.
This here was a tasty appetizer. I wish I had ordered a few more.
This was the soup that my wife ordered. She seemed to really enjoy it.
Our waiter was amazed that I ate the crawfish on this next dish. He tried to convince me that it was just a garnish. Little did he know that I grew up with Cajuns that boil crawfish on the regular, so I learned to pinch tails & suck heads from an early age.
You regular readers of my HungryHeath Facebook page, know that I am a burger addict. If there is a burger on the menu, I'm usually going to order it. Alas, this burger sounded better than it tasted. I was a little disappointed.
Here is the entree Shelly ordered. She let me taste the tomato side dish. It was something I had never heard of. It was pretty damn good. I think we will try making them at home sometime.
Folks, my wife's obsession with souffles, rivals that of my burger addiction. If it's on the menu, she too HAS to order one.
Just a basic ice cream. A nice end to a decent dinner.
