2019 World Cruise - Days 34 & 35

Tuesday 02.05.19 - Sea Day

For some reason I was wide awake at 7am, so I began working on the blog.

8:30am pastries & melon from the breakfast buffet

11:45am Cruise Critic Luncheon

Fried Calamari - perfectly fried & always tasty. We added some Crimson hot sauce to the cocktail sauce to give that extra kick of spice.

Arrabiata - specialty spicy pasta offered and we both ordered as an app.  This is my favorite pasta they make, love the spicy sauce!  The head waiter makes it fresh to order.  I really wished they offered this more often.

A little Crimson to kick it up a notch

Tortellini - This dish is a little bit oily & I'm not sure what the mystery meat filling is, but it's good.

Chef’s Salad - Shelly says that this was really a great salad.

ham, turkey, Swiss cheese, tomato, egg and iceberg lettuce

Chocolate Cake - Moist cake, but the frosting is the best part!

5pm Nibbles: Herb-Marinated Goat Cheese with Crispy Rosemary Flatbread and Tomato Bruschetta

7pm MDR Formal Dinner #6

I had…
Classic Shrimp Cocktail - simple but tasty
Shrimp Cocktail
an American classic with horseradish-spiked cocktail sauce

Gnocchi - I wasn’t sure what to expect with this dish. I was pleased with how good it was. I liked how soft the noodles were.
Gnocchi di Patate Pumpkin con Crema di Funghi
mushroom cream, tomato oil

Lobster tails & lemon raviolis - This was the first time I tried the ravioli. I was pleased to find that the lemon was not overpowering. My lobster was perfectly cooked.
Lemon Ravioli, Lobster Tail, Cognac Bisque
green beans, fresh herbs

Chateaubriand - I added this as a sort of DIY surf & turf. I loved the fork tender cuts of meat.
Chateaubriand of Beef Tenderloin
madeira essence and bernaise sauce, yellow squash, carrots and berny potatoes

Once again, none of the dessert options really interested me so I had a couple of scoops of ice cream.
Chocolate Ice Cream

Shelly had…
Crab Souffle - this is so yummy! Creamy almost like a thick cheese with bits of crab then topped with more cheese and broiled.  This is a must have, every time!
Crab Souffle
dry sherry red pepper cream

Lobster tails & lemon raviolis - the tails were succulent as usual served with warm clarified butter, the raviolis were large and I got 2 on the plate a nice hint of lemon.

Souffle dessert - decent, but a bit too sweet for me.

French Vanilla Soufflé
Lady Godiva cream sauce

Wednesday 02.06.19 - Sea Day

We crossed the International Date Line, resulting in us losing this day, but they forgot to tell the elevator 😊
